the game was working 3 days ago perfectly fine. when i came back the next day i got the same error log as the OP and i havent been able to play since. this has nothing to do with the way i've installed promods, because i used the recommended load order from the promods website. been using promods since 1.27 of ets2, and this has never happened before.

im using a new definition file with rusmaps tickbox UNCHECKED on both since i didnt load rusmaps because the game crashes anyway with or without rushmaps loaded in.

So what happens? Does it seem like the game freezes on the loading screen, or does it crash to desktop?

i dont have the italy DLC and im not going to spend £13.99 to get promods working.

I would strongly advice you to buy the Italy DLC during the next Steam sale. It's a very well-made map.

right thanks guys, and to answer Davyddins question, the game goes through the loading screen fine untill the bar goes to arounf 75% then i get a windows error message saying the application has crashed, OR the game just crashes and closes down instantly.
