A couple of quick questions about old versions

Hello there! Noob here.

I own all maps except Iberia. If I play with game version 1.42x and mod version 2.57, should it work fine?

In case it does, will my current 1.43 profile work or do I need to create a new one?

I hope I asked on the correct forum, and I apologize if this has been answered before, I haven't found an answer in the stickies or the faq's.

Promods 2.57 will work well in 1.42 version if you have Going East!, Scandinavia, Vive la France!, Italia, Beyond the Baltic Sea and Road to the Black Sea, but you can't use the 1.43 profile. You will need to create a new one for the older version of the game.

Also: as a rule of thumb: is it usually possible to play Promods when you don't own the last or two last released maps, by using previous versions of game and/or mod?

No. The reason that you need a create a new profile this time is that game profiles are not backward-compatible (using a 1.43 game profile with game version 1.42 won't work). But game profiles are forward-compatible (a 1.42 game profile can be used with game version 1.43, but be warned: once you use a profile with 1.43 it won't be usable with previous versions anymore).

You can use any previous release of ProMods as long as you use the appropriate game version. But there may be bugs in those older releases which are fixed in newer releases.
