Today we head back from our petrol station trip to Valencia, and then go to pick up some earth movers from the Embalse de Contreras dam.
This place (Motilla del Palancar) is a true labour of love.
Passing the Contreras reservoir on the way back to Valencia.
Bird's-eye view.
Oh my, that looks nasty.
After dropping off the trailer and getting a good night's sleep, we headed back for the reservoir in the very early morning. Stopped here to watch the sun come up, but it didn't...
The road to the pick-up point beyond the dam is extremely long and windy. A fun drive...for most people.
Job site.
Got the heavy plant.
The gigantic dam wall looms above us.
Is that the Great Wall? Nope. Not enough tourists.
One more look at this magnificent scenery.
And we're on our way to Ciudad Real. Just approaching Motilla del Palancar here.
One last set to go.

Back for the final set from ProMods Spain. It's been quite a journey!
We stopped for a bite near the first petrol station featured in the set before last, and then, feeling refreshed, set off on the last few km of this epic journey.
Ciudad Real lies ahead.
Pleasant countryside on the way there.
We've arrived.
Let's drop off the load and have a look round.
It's a nice place, carefully made with modern assets.
During this tour of ProMod's SW France and Spain I have learned to appreciate my least favourite truck from the game. Needs a decent,
preferably dark paint scheme, and ideally some large bull bars. Then it looks awesome.
Well, this is the end of the road for this tour. I'm glad I managed to see ProMods Spain - it's well worth a visit, with a great variety of quality scenery, including proper mountains, impressive dams, great custom signage and junctions, beautiful villages and impressive cities.
I'm going to spend a little time in Colorado without posting, and then should get back, hopefully soon, with the final tour in this thread - the remainder of the Scandinavia DLC.
Bye for now!

Back again, after a few months off playing RDR and other things. Was going to wrap up this thread with a tour of the Scandinavia DLC, but came back to trucking with a thirst for a bit more ATS, so here we are - Dan's back, touring New Mexico in his new rig - the very distinctive International LoneStar.
We kick off in Flagstaff, Arizona, which SCS are supposed to have updated. Couldn't see any changes to be honest. Wierd. Still, a nice location to start off at.
Heading for our first job.
Flagstaff landmark.
Picked up the first of several oversize cargoes we'll be hauling from San Simon, and then headed for NM.
Crossing the border for the first time.
Weighing up the options.
Local agriculture. Not hot enough, must build glasshouses.
Sent the drone up to take a look at this border crossing.
Who's been a naughty boy, then?
It was bothering me not having Oversize Load on the truck, so we pulled into a truck stop and garage at Deming.
That's better!
Hmmm. Didn't know Potemkin passed through thisaway.
Arrival in Las Cruces.
Took a while, but eventually we parked up here.
And now we were Free As The Wind to explore this characteristic New Mexico town.
NM has it's own, I guess Pueblo-inspired style of architecture.
Simple forms and reddish dusty pastel colours are all the rage.
Zen gardens too.
Eventually it was time to get some kip. Early start tomorrow.
Off we go. Next destination - Socorro.
Hope you liked!

You're welcome, and it is nice to be back
Added in 16 minutes 54 seconds:
Today the tour of the red and dusty state of New Mexico continues with a drive through Socorro and Albuquerque.
Blue dawn.
After a couple of hours in the driving seat I felt like stopping for a cuppa.
I think this is where I can get coffee, right?
Eventually I found some, and then pressed on to Socorro. Let's check it out.
Perhaps I should pick up some genuine "BEEF" Durham tobacco. Consider my curiosity piqued.
Not a bad little town.
There are always three.
New job.
Outskirts of Albuquerque.
Could that be the aircraft you can get a job from? Must try to remember that.
You certainly feel like you're in a different state in NM. Distinctive style. Not really my thing, but interesting.
Approaching the famous intersection for the first time.
Wheeeee!
Another view. I'm sure there will be more before we're done with NM.
Heading outwards, destination Gallup. I thought you had to say Native American these days.
Now these are cool.
Back to the spectacular western landscapes.
And the heat haze.
And those mysterious structures. I wonder what they are. Perhaps I could venture a TENT-ative guess...
Or maybe not. That's enough for today!

Alright, today we're travelling from Gallup to St Johns and Show Low in Arizona. So, not very much time in NM at all, but I wanted to explore the border area a bit more before heading into the state properly.
Crossing the railway line in Gallup. A lot of trains and crossings in NM.
Nicely modelled trains, too.
Looking good in silver.
Another heavy load. Curious about that thing on the hill, but not curious enough to send up the drone. Should have done. Perhaps some kind of ski-jump sponsored by Hot Wheels?
Well... not sure what to think about this.
Making for the border.
Must be in Arizona by now. Lots of great landscapes around here.
Eventually we reached St Johns. It's just a small place - I don't think it's officially on the map.
The cab on this thing really looks just like a 1930s luxury car. It's kind of true of all US
cabs but this one more than most.
Coming out of St Johns, Show Low is the next stop.
A great little trip along the AZ-NM border. Next time - back into New Mexico.
Thanks for taking a peek!
