Hello, I would like to ask a question (as this is the question area):

Why is northern Iceland always snow covered, but the rest of Europe (Except Svalbard) is summer? Why is that?

First of all, near the volcanic areas of the centre of Iceland, it would make sense to put snow there, but why is there snow in summer time around the coasts? Please someone give me an answer. :D

Svalbard is in the very north near the Arctic so don't question me why there is snow there.

On that snow thing. Yes in summer there is no snow anywhere apart glaciers, but we put it there to give players more variety and a new challenge. Also I've seen a lot of snow in late May in north, so it's not 100% unrealistic ;) .

I guess if there is snow in May, there probably would be snow during the summer.

The game season is spring/summer by default. Northern Iceland is closer to the Arctic circle, and remember that by winter, most of south Iceland is covered by snow anyway, so I think it makes a good compromise.

Well, let's be honest. The game (by default) takes place roughly at summer solstice, at which point Iceland with the exception of glaciers would definitely not be snow-covered. And while the goal of ProMods is to be realistic, and while I myself prefer the game to be realistic, I think the choice to make northern Iceland snow-covered was a good one, given the variety it provides.

Maybe there were some big hailstorm, or unexpected snowfalls?
Those have happened in some parts of Sweden, not that many years ago.
A fast google search and I found that northern Finland had snowfall july 2017.
