I thought this might make an interesting discussion.

Which chassis do you use, and why?

To be honest, I do not know the technical reasons behind all the different axle configurations that are available to us in the game.

I just use the 6x4 and cannot really tell the difference between this and the 6x2, apart from the extra fuel capacity.

I use the 4x2 - simply since it's the most common one in Germany

I have a 6x4 although I'd like a 6x4 tag-lift. Unless fuel really matters to you, 6x4 is a lot better and with the tag-lift you can get the power and handling of the 6x4 and the fuel economy of the 4x2 all in one. Only two problems with that is that there aren't any side skirts available for most trucks and the fuel tank is smaller.

Volvo FH 2009 & 2012: 6x2/4 midlift simply because it fits on them and it looks cool.

50k DAF XF: 6x2/4 midlift because it's the most suitable one for it.

Scania Streamline: 6x2 taglift simply because it fits for it and most of the Scania's I see are taglifts.

DAF Euro 6: 6x2 taglift with rear steering: this configuration is probably one of the common ones seen in Finland and it makes the turning radius smaller.

Mercedes-Benz Actros & new Actros: 6x2 taglift because it makes the chassis longer and gives a little more fuel capacity than 6x2/4 chassis and the mist important, it has sideskirts.

RJL Scania R & Streamline edit: 6x2 taglift with rear steering simply because I like this configuration because of the small turning radius. I have another 4x2 EXC Longline cab truck and it has big tanks which makes the truck to run 6-7 trips with full tanks.

RJL Scania T: 10x4/6: This 5 axle monster consumes actually very little amount of fuel which makes me to like it.

The most preferred one IMO is 6x2 taglift.

In real life a 4x2 chassis is limited to 18 tonnes, however a three-axle can carry pretty much anything. Most of my trucks are a 6x4 or 6x2-lift configuration with some 4x2 and miscellaneous trucks such as 8x4 or 10x6.

I've always used 6x4's. I find the extra steering come in handy, especially when reversing onto a trailer.

4x2, don't really know why, I just like it.

Didn't know this, thanks, unfortunately almost all the jobs available in the list are above 18 tonnes (at least with Bora's trailer pack)..

4x2 for the big fuel tank. I am too lazy to keep filling up.

6x2/4 Midlift. It doesn't get stuck in quarries like the Taglift does, though I miss the short wheelbase and large fuel tanks of the 4x2.

Anything longer than a 4x2 makes deliveries to Trameri depots that much harder. You can just drive straight in and straighten it while reversing with the 4x2, the others require a blindside reverse park unless you're using a RHD cab.
Curry?! My manual doesn't have any data on curry... What's the meaning of this...?!
