Don't like standalone maps. Australia will be quite small if standalone. And why can't use ferry?

Upd. Good plans, Poland.Ball

;) Actually, we got new "news" (?) for you all.
Australia will get "expanded". The Project will be renamed to Project Oceania.
Also, the project should cover following countries:
Australia and New Zealand

This map is NOT standalone, its an addon.

I also don't like standalone maps because I am restricted to much smaller area and I must create new economy. In past I was renaming maps so I can use them on standard Promods profile. I am glad that this is addon.

I understand that you are really ambitious and you want to make an awesome map of Australia, and I encourage you to, but Australia is a MASSIVE country and is completely different to any other country. If you really want to capture the feeling of Australia then you will need loads of new assets and tons of motivation to map such a large area :)

Since I've lived in Australia all my life, I can offer you advice and give you critique, as I will be watching this project very closely ;)

Yes, it's my fault. Australia is much bigger than Germany.

No worries. I got two others who can help me and maybe 3 more people will join. We will create assets for special stuff like Sydney Tower. (A friend has Modelling experience and I got Blender2SCS experience). Ofc it's a big area, but it's also possible that we will contact the creator of Australia Tasmania. If it's a 1:19 map and he grants us access, we can update the map, implement it in our project and change all terrains to the new ets2 style. It's a big country, but as first we have planned half of Newsouthwales and some Tasmania, maybe also some Victoria.

We are using some us models and fld prefabs and mapping the Australia as realistic as possible (including dlc assets) so you do not need to worry.

If you want to connect New South Wales with Tasmania you will need Victoria, since the ferry to Tasmania is in Melbourne. Also please note that Victoria is Australia's most densely populated state and there are a lot of things going on here. Melbourne has 5 million people :)

Would you also believe it snows in the mountains? It would be nice to see these mountains represented, there are some crazy roads :)

The main road connecting Melbourne and Sydney is the M31 Hume Freeway which runs for over 800km. The A1 Princes Highway also connects these two cities but runs more along the coast.

I do hope that one day we can use road trains in this map add on.
I mean in the same way as the real life truckers do in the Discovery channels Outback truckers with European and American trucks.
