Hello together, there is an interesting new video regarding the fps drops in Barcelona

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSFlKvXEWcA&t=273s

The youtuber is using an Nvidia 1080ti, and even that GPU has drops below 20 fps.

What the hell what GPU do expect us to use?

Is it necessary to rework the area completely? (e.g. removing all the assets completely, and reactivating them one by one until the killer problem is found, or if it is just a question of mass of data to find out what has to be simplified?)

I don't think even a 1180ti won't bring much advantage compared to a 1080ti (single or SLI)

Sometimes you have to accept that not everything that is possible is the golden way keyword "good enough", below 30 fps for a high end GPU is not good enough.

IMHO it is acceptable that midrange GPU has these massive drops (like i have) but a GPU at around 1k€, should be more than overkill.

It's the old DX9 engine that is bottlenecking alot. Actually older graphics Card perform better, because they can work with DX9 better than newer grapics Cards.
My AMD Radeon 390 can actually run Barcelona on highest Settings, highest Vegetation spawning rate(in PM def) and when it's raining around 30-40 FPS.

I wonder about his settings because I have a GTX1070 (not even Ti) at home, and I can run Barcelona at 45fps. The only thing is that if you load lots of AI / trailer packs the game can also slow down a lot.

What hardware is he using, except for that 1080Ti?
What settings? What resolution? How many other mods?

I watched only a part of that video and I see it drops for him to 35-50fps (a lot of various drops to <60) in areas where I get stable 60fps with my GTX660 2GB...

I asked him in an older video, but i do not find it, as i remember correct he has a quite actual I7 system (7700k ?) and runs Graphics all maxed out, but if you see the discussion below the video i asked him again. He has removed all other mods except Jazzycats if i understand right.

i have similar issues at a lower level, but i also drop down to around 14 fps (it was in 2.26, have not been there again in 2.27) but i think a fx8320 with RX470 compared to to I7 with 1080TI there should be a much bigger difference. In my case the GPU is the limiting factor, the CPU has much headroom on each core even if not overclocked.

I have 7700K + 8GB RAM + Zotac GTX660 2GB and Barcelona is a problem indeed, but I don't get less than 25fps I believe (I wasn't there for a long time).
The problem is, that there's too much stuttering. It's not comfortable to drive there. But since then, all Spanish cities perform great ;)
So Barcelona will be rebuilt one day but we don't want to do it now, because it would stop new development. And you know many players are waiting for Portugal.

yes i think that's right, we have to wait for the big bang in Barcelona, its a real big scenery for taking pictures but not for driving. I understand not to put the manpower into rebuilding Barcelona (Zagreb needs also a closer look at), but put in iberian peninsula especially as SCS won't be there for a long time.

Important in my eyes not to make the same "errors" in other parts of PM. IMHO a Highend rig should be capable of running everything stable at 60 Hz, with some drops down to 50 Hz (but not below). If this is not achieved it should be checked WHY. Perhaps for a driving map it is not needed to show every pitting on a traffic sign, even its more real, and perhaps important for taking "real" pictures. I personally can life with a bit less reality and a bit more drivability.
