For the time being while the new Paris hasn't been finished yet: Paris Rebuild v3.3 of Grimes for ETS2 v1.48 has a seperate download version for ProMods users. Does that mean that the road connector which was introduced with ProMods 2.65 is no longer needed?

Yes, you don’t need the connector if you are using the ProMods version of Paris rebuild.

Calais is a ... maze. It is very difficult to figure in/out from the port and also from the train station

I was going to say exactly the same thing, being from Calais I can certify that the Port and the Channel Tunnel are represented identically .
