Pro mods doesn't work with steam?

I run ets2 with steam and i had bought the no ads download from this website and everything was going great i put the mod into the mod folder on ets2 and started up my game. I enabled pro mods and then ets2 was loading and then my game crashed and when i take the mod out it runs fine please help

Did you download the def file?? and did you extract both of the rar files?

Just to say that I use ProMods with the Steam version of ETS2 without crashes.

Agreed.
You couldn't have followed all the steps as Nico outlined, because Pro Mods works fine with the Steam version.
As far as mods are concerned, it makes no difference whether you have the Steam version of ETS2 or not.
