UK tunnels nearly always have warning lights and barriers before them, to aid closing them in emergencies. This is even true on shorter tunnels, such as this one on the A229 (no barriers) https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.34423 ... 312!8i6656

so guys, here are some pics from austrian autobahn tunnels.
sorry for bad quality, hope you can used it, not that easy to take photos during drivng
In front of every tunnel
Now to the Inside
Emergency exits for persons all marked with green LED`s like here
Verry common also the LED plates with the speedlimit and the no overtaking for trucks sign
And another foible of austrian autobahn tunnels are these niches for broken down cars
Hope that`s good enough for you, if not just say and i will make more pics.

I just recently went through that long and dark tunnel that is going under Svartisen glacier in Norway, Svartisen tunnel and i must say i am very impressed of the new upgrades. It is now not very dark. It has gotten a new and improved lighting system with automatic built-in sensors.
I don't have any pictures though but there is a video at the bottom.
New lighting, enhanced by the entrance
Escape light
New and enhanced ventilation
Replacement of old hazardous cables with new fire-resistant cables for power supply in the tunnel
Improved gas meters, anemometers
Emergency closet with a telephone and fire extinguishers are located every 250 m
Upgrade of automatic monitoring of the tunnel and contact with the Road Traffic Management Centre

Reupload tunnel signs in Romania:
1)Entering a tunnel (showing the length of it):
2)Exiting a tunnel:
3)50-200 meters before entering a tunnel:
4)Informating sign about the tunnel:
The amount of Kilometers of tunnels: 2 Km (in the all "corners" of the country), from this aprox. 340 meters are highway tunnels.
