Discord Verification Process?

Hi,
Wanted to join your discord but was a bit confused about the verification process when I got the message below:

My concern is about the part where I am giving you access to my user name, banner etc.. and the right to join servers on my behalf. Curious why you would need that?

Sorry for any confusion... its not about what I am being asked for but more about the permissions I am being asked to give to promods that was my concern. According to that dialog, I am giving promods the right to access my username, banner and other stuff and "Join Servers for Me". Just wondering why promods would need that. Unless of course that is a discord issue just giving me wrong information.

It needs your username to match it with the forum and log the username to the database
It also requires to join servers for you so that after verification it automatically joins the ProMods server

These two are the minimum requirements for the verification process to work

Ah fair enough... I am just gunshy about giving away permissions. For myself I am happy to keep them separate for now.
