As for a potential ferry/train connection: Some people like it, some people dislike it, but I agree that it is a bit on the silly end to drive "once around the block" in order to get from Mo to Trondheim
I am currently thinking of adding a small fix/add-on that would allow people who are interested to simply add a ferry connection from Bodø to Trondheim (both ports are called by Hurtigruten and both ports more or less exist in game).

I added a ferry to my game. Vestnes to Skarberget. Unrealistic but functional and easy because the ports are ready. While waiting for better solutions.

The goal is to integrate Finnmark into the 'vanilla' Promods version. Some areas, especially the older parts, will have to see some improvements, so I can't really say what timeframe we are looking at....
