Hi,

are you sure that you download the def file and do open it with WinRAR or 7-zip?

You're not supposed to extract the def file. It gets placed in the mod folder like you downloaded it.

Well either you or your browser opened the file in WinRAR in the previous screenshot. That is what lead us to believe that you were trying to extract the contents of the definition file.

Anyway, you should rename your definition file from "promods-ats-def-v100.zip" to "promods-ats-def-v100.scs", and then place the file in your mod folder. You may need to enable file name extensions to be able to change the full filename.

It looks like that when using certain browsers (like Firefox), generating the DEF file results in downloading not an SCS file, but a ZIP file. In such cases, as recommended above, just simply rename the extension to SCS. As mentioned above, you are not supposed to extract this file, you just have to place it in the game's mod folder. :)

FireFox, as default, does download promods-ats-def-v100.scs as scs files.
I just did a recheck.

Edit:
Or could it have to do something with what ScuL wrote here? viewtopic.php?p=312121#p312121

If you're using Firefox and keep having problems downloading SCS files you're probably using a download manager extension OR have the handler incorrectly set.

For the latter, read this Firefox guide.

I use Firefox and can download SCS files just fine.
