Why we have only one server for downloading. At new relases, server overloads a lot (i remember 200%ish ) and it becomes horrifyingly slow. Why we don't have magnet links for new releases? It would be faster and i believe hundreds of people would seed the link for community for a long time.

From the FAQ

Q: Why can't you use Torrents, Google Drive or <insert service here?>.
A: We've outgrown every service out there due to the sheer volume of downloads we serve. We also can't use torrents due to the lack of control (for example, last minute patches after a download has gone live or new versions) and security of such service. We want to retain control of the full download process at all times and not have to deal with third parties if possible.

Tahoe-LAFS and IPFS are both peer to peer and allow retraction of content.

There is not just one server for downloading. There are many load balanced. Also as stated multiple times 200% doesn't "mean anything" as such as our providers allow for bandwidth bursting - it is more an indication on how much over our allocated bandwidth we are given the size of the pool (which varies - depending on the amount of back-end servers.

I've tried IPFS and no, it isn't the answer with the amount of traffic we do. Seriously, you name it and I've tried it. We won't be using P2P-based solutions at all.

Hello Truckers,

I can't download the newest ProMods 2.50. After clocking on the download button there is a message "please disable your adblocker", while my adblocker is disabled. I've tried to download the mod on Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox but I have the same poblem on all three browsers.

It could be that your antivirus or firewall software is blocking javascript execution. Try to temporarily disable it

I have an idea. Keep the bandwith burst capability, but implement a limit in the download page that blocks anyone that attempts to download past 100% of full time continuous level, for a day.

And how is that possibly fair for others? You clearly have no understanding on building services to scale with zero budget (all to serve a free download and providing little income to keep the rest of the infrastructure online) so perhaps keep all your ideas to yourself. If you have a problem with the free download service then there is a paid option also which has the ability to max out your internet connection.

Just like a government office: Go out today, come in tomorrow.
