if i saw them then i did always:
uset r_fake_shadows 0
That solved the problem, thank you so much! :D
Just out of curiosity, would you know what does "fake shadows" even means in-game? Because I can't understand: the shadows are still there normally, this made just the weird glitch to disappear.

You are correct, fake shadows appear to be the generic dark area under vehicles, complementing the shape-accurate sun shadows.
On a side note, in case it might be useful: if we put on r_fake_shadows "1" instead of 0, only trucks (and respective trailers, if any) lose their fake shadows. All other vehicles keep theirs, which is at least a little less bad.

Thanks again Rudi Raser for the help. ;)

It seems to become more or less noticeable according to camera angles and graphics options (if maxed out, it becomes harder to notice).
As my PC is very low-end, to have acceptable fps I have to use values like this:

Code: Select all

uset r_fake_shadows "2"
uset r_sun_shadow_texture_size "512"
uset r_sun_shadow_quality "1"
This makes the glitch noticeable a mile away, and happens in several trailers (partial list here) and a certain type of Man trucks.
Let's hope some PM staff acknowledges this, as various users have now reported the problem...

I also have the same problem.. Please find a fix to this, as it kinda freaks me out lol..
Roads Explored - 41.6%.
Trucks (Main ones) - Scania T, Volo FH By Ohaha.
Level - 104.
Driven Distance - 375,178.

A temporary fix is to edit the following line in the config.cfg file

Code: Select all

uset r_fake_shadows "1"
But it's only a palliative, as it makes trucks and trailers to be shadowless at night and/or inside tunnels. :(

hello guys
shadow problem is now gone with setting to 1 (it seems)
before it was on 2 - change to 0 make the game more laggy.
sure i have no shadow but with real dark night its not possible to recognize i think. now with not so dark nights and wintermod you can see it but for me its not a big problem as long as the map works good
greets
