So you're saying that SCS caused this?

Sadly, I think, SCS is only concentrating on their own commercial situation and can't
just as any base map maker, take all other addon maps into consideration. I agree
strongly that it would be VERY nice if as much information as possible can be shared
by the base map makers, but I doubt it will ever happen.
Regarding my ME BGs I've made as support for mappers and the game BGs I've made
for game users, I once suggested in the SCS forum that SCS should implement an online
input of the map data from map services like Google, both in ME and in game. Then we
wouldn't have to be limited at all when it comes to BGs and properly located maps. But
that Mandelsoft disapproved of promptly and I'm sure he will explain again why!

As I see it with all the drama this background issue creates users are stepping away from ETS2, so as a busniness point of wiew it would be in SCS interest to fix this,
And yes it is an SCS issue because they provide all the tools for modding and should also provide prerequisites suitible for the modders demand

I knew it! Maybe SCS should owe us an explaination.
MandelSoft, could it be possible that it is a hardcoded map coordinate, instead of a sector, that makes everything west and north it of scaling to 1:15?
That point could be close to (sec-0008-0002);31300.0;10.0;5500.0 . It is just outside of Calais harbour.
Parts of Norwich is east if going north of this point.
Everything in base map British Isles are north and west of that point.

It is data in 1:15 that is rescaled by the engine to 1:19, the same scale as all other areas.
NOT the other way around! Whether it's sectors or a single coordinate I don't know, but
Mandelsoft might know that!

bengt.jensie, I was curious to see what happens if doing a road that goes from the North sea and passes Norwich, then continuing back to the north sea.
No, it is not a circle. This happens.
A more zoomed in picture:
Due to the orientation it looks as if the road south goes southsoutheast, but it is supposed to go northwest.
Points 5 and 6, are between 4 and 7 in real life, in a soft surve.
/edit:
I did another simple road south of the British isles.
It started south of Bournemouth and north of Cherbourg, then went westwards until it passed Plymouth, after that north.
Sadly I **** and most of the road sections were too long. So I did not use that test road.

- Some road sections inside the 1:15 area.

Thanks for the illustrations, but that kind of anomaly has been known to me for very long now.
As long as SCS insists to keep UK in the scale of 1:15 and doing this trick in the engine mappers
got to stay away from those transitions between the two areas!

Well, either stay away, or do as ProMods did with British Isles, Färöarna and Iceland.
I do know what I prefer. Until that day, that SCS maybe redoes areas.
By the way, that scale transition is inside a sector.

Then we probably can say safely that the game engine is working from coordinates, not sectors!
Thank you for that valuable info!
