Colin, there is only one answer to your question - it is impossible to tell for two reasons: the first is that every update changes the mechanics of the game - the team has to find out how that affects the map - for instance if the algorithm of the route advisor gets changed road attributes may (or not) have to be changed, any of these changes may or may not be easy. So we don't know how many hours the team has to put in. The second reason is that none of them get paid so Real Life takes precedence - there could be an exam looming, any form of illness, stress on the job or in a relationship are not exactly conducive to putting in unpaid hours into your hobby. Sometimes the update is here in days, sometimes substantially longer.
With the paid download you don't donate to the team but you buy a fast ad-free download.
If you got an "impatient" answer that may be because the regular posters have been answering the question "when will it be ready" for six pages now in a topic called "1.36 update" not very far from where you opened this thread ...

Got the same problem, so seems that I need to wait for compatibility fix.
By the way, just roughly, when do you plan to incorporate DLC Road to Black Sea? Will it be 2.43 or later?

it will be later - 2.43 will be compatible with 1.36 and the DLC, but not merged (it means that ProMods 2.43 will overwrite DLC areas).

Merging ProMods with the new DLC is not a easy job and we can not say how long it will take.

no, it's not possible - TruckersMP server are already updated to 1.36.
