I thought that the scale of the map for the UK was 1:15, different than the rest of the map which is 1:19. Yet, when driving on the M6 north of Liverpool, I noticed that 19 game minutes passed for every minute in the real world, a 1:19 scale. Has the UK scale been changed to be the same as the rest of the map, or am I misunderstanding something?

The scale of the UK indeed is 1:15.
You can see it when you look on the in-game map. You see that Scotland is on the same latitude as the south of Norway. Which it really isn't in real life.

Thanks Volleyball, how do you explain time flowing at a 1:19 ratio then? I timed it in various locations outside of cities, and it was the same in UK and Ireland. The time would have to be the same scale as the distance for the speed of the truck to be correct. Besides, in the past I've always noticed that time flowed at the correct 1:15 ratio. (I know because I sometimes translate how long a trip will take in real time.) Something just seems off to me. I first noticed the time acting differently when I upgraded to 2.20.
As far at the game is concerned, the entire map (Outside of cities) is 1:19. However, the roads in the UK are actually built to 1:15. The game still treats time like it's 1:19. SCS added some code to override this behaviour for distances however.
Curry?! My manual doesn't have any data on curry... What's the meaning of this...?!

I'm pretty sure the distances(same as time) are still marked in 1:19 even if the map is 1:15.
Hm. I thought it rescaled that. I might be wrong. SCS has a whole bunch of little hacks that specifically make the UK work properly.Ranchester wrote: ↑07 Oct 2017 09:05I'm pretty sure the distances(same as time) are still marked in 1:19 even if the map is 1:15.

Well, you can't get past the basic physics of d=v*t. So, if time passes at the same rate in the UK as in the rest of Europe, yet the UK map is scaled at 1:15 versus 1:19 for the continent, the way I see it there are three possibilities:
1) When driving at say 70 km/hr, the scenery must "look" like it's moving past your truck faster than in the rest of Europe. This would allow you to cover more of a map, yet keep the distance and time for a trip from say London to Manchester correct and both scaled at 1:19.
2) The distances are off, and the UK is actually represented as being larger than it truly is. I think this is unlikely.
3) When driving at say 70 km/hr, the scenery passes your truck at the same rate as in the rest of Europe. The program however internally considers your truck as moving at a slower speed (at 70 km/hr, it would take longer than an hour to travel 70 km). Although a possibility, this isn't the case as it would lead to an incorrect time estimate for the trip, which I've never noticed. The time estimates are rather accurate and consistently calculated using t=d/(62 km/hr).
My money is on option 1. (basically what Ranchester said)
