Desert Truck Map 1.0

Ever felt that ATS wasn't boring enough? Wish you could go back to the good old days of Desert Bus?



Well worry no more! Introducing Desert Truck 1.0, drive in 1:1 scale the 580km (360 mile) route through the desert from Tucson to Las Vegas. Wonder at the vast emptiness of Arizona and Nevada on your ~5.5 hour (real time) journey along a totally flat and pretty much straight road with no junctions or scenery. Unlike Desert Bus, your truck handles well, but the road itself has many slight turns requiring constant adjustments on the steering - so don't worry cruise control won't be saving you much pain.



Start in Tucson and head north west for hours on end to reach Las Vegas and realise you will never get that time back.



Is there anything out there in this vast map? Could there be any hidden easter eggs? Probably not but you'll have to drive the whole route to find out!

DISCLAIMER: I cannot be held liable for any extreme boredom or discomfort from playing this map. There are a few bugs and the cities are lazyily built at best. These things won't be fixed in future.

I have beaten the map in exactly 4 hours and 44 Minutes (with maybe a few crashes and 51 engine malfunctions, dont mind that)



And in my video i have challenged the map maker to do the same map again, but in ETS 2 and in the middle of siberia, so instead of desert just forest.

I like the idea of an ETS2 long/boring road in Siberia. When I get 5 spare hours I might make one

I'm happy to report this map still works in 1.42 if you edit the manifest file.

To see if it works, enable it in your mod manager and load the game. You can edit the manifest file if needed too.
