Wait, so like a ferry between the two as opposed to a roadmap? That could be done potentially

Well, sort of as a ferry, but without the ferry itself.
Could have looked better if Russia would have had Tollbooths where you stop.
Maybe a ferry point masquared as Police traffic controls or similar could work?
RusMap and ROS overlaps would need to be eliminated anyway, I suspect.

/edit:
Downloaded ROS and now I have it installed with ProMods and RusMap + PM's and RM's connection.
Road overlap beween ROS and RM:

South of Moscow:
M4/E115 and P132 Between RM's Tula and ROS's Novomoskovsk.
Both cities are part of Tula Oblast

East of St Petersburg:
A120, E105/M10 and E105/P21
With towns Shlisselburg, Tosno and Imeni Morozova.
Tosno and Imeni Morozova only in ROS.

Future road overlap with Promods:
Murmansk

Possible connections/portals:
East side of M4/E115 and P132 in Tula Oblast. RusMap - ROS
Shlisselburg Area, well, somewhere there?
Murmansk? Could depend if you want ProMods or ROS Murmansk.

Missing road connection:
E22/M7 east of Moscow towards Kovrov

I'm not counting in any map add ons that connect ROS and RusMap.

Question 1: What scale does ROS have?! Mapscale, not time scale.
Severomorsk to Shlisselburg, that's almost 3x distance "when looking at ingame map", compared to 1:19 scale used by RusMap and ProMods.

Southwest roads of ROS
Northwest road of RoS

Time scale might be 1/16.
Road/map scale, not at all sure about that.

/edit:

Murmansk - Verkhniy Nyud
Google Maps = 160km
ROS = 410km

Something IS 'funny' here.

I'm waiting on the authors of this map to wake up and rebuild it in 1:19 scale like the authors of RusMap did. I keep hoping the authors of these two maps will start to cooperate like ProMods and RusMap are.
Until then I will stay away from this map. It is too much trouble to try and get it to work right with other maps.

Well yeah, obviously that would be the case here. I think what happens is that his map was made in 1:13 (I think) but he left the time and distance scale as 1:19 even though that's not what's actually mapped so it's still compatible as an addon map (and doesn't have to remain standalone). This made the map appear far more "open" than it actually was.

Hi,

there are two ways: either you have RusMap 1.6.1, ROS 2.4 and map20 road connection or you use RM 1.6.1 & ROS 3.0 without the map20 road connection. Take a look into my map combining pdf, there´s a mod with additional ferry connections from St. Petersburg to ROS.

To keep the rebuild St. Petersburg complete and Shlisselburg as well with map20, just open the file "map20.scs" with Winrar, navigate into folder map/europe and delete these files:

sec+0015-0014.aux to sec+0016-0015.desc (marked 12 files)

The two road connections in the south are still usable and you can enjoy all new RusMap 1.6.1 features.

best regards

Frachti, thank you very much for that helpful tip. I'll work on doing just that, I didn't know that those were the faulty map sectors causing overlap. Shame ROS 3.0 doesn't really work with anything else (much less the connector) but to my understanding it's only a few new roads that are being added (does it really justify a whole new number verison though :?: )

The map has been optimized and a bunch of models has been reworked as well. This has given me the reason to skip map20.

I've been having a problem with ETS2 v1.23 / ProMods v2.02 / RusMap v1.63 / ROS v3.0 concerning job prices when there's a ferry involved.

Image
Jobs available in Kotlas using TSM. Everything normal.

Image
Jobs available in Kotlas using ProMods. Note sensible price for job to Syktyvkar.

Image
Random jobs using ProMods. Note not-sensible prices for jobs to Akureyri as well as Alakurtti in ROS territory.

The only difference between the two profiles are the map mods. Removed ROS and the prices for jobs to Akureyri returned to normal.

I've tried fiddling with the load order and removing various non-map mods but nothing has made any difference except removing ROS entirely.

Any ideas?
