Can't make/change templates in sign editor?

Why can't you create new ones?
- If it crashes, check if there is a template on our map without a reference (and that it produces missing template errors)
- If it doesn't crash, check the updated sign editor tutorial again. It looks like you don't know how to create a board in the sign editor.

Everything is working, but I have one last question. I decided ro remake all templates but I don't have time to delete all of them (these are empty templates, error will appear), so can I make all templates in different new mod and when I'll do all templates for replacement just put this sign defs into my main mod to avoid editor crash? Do you think that it'll work?

I AM SO desperate they will fix it. I REALLY REALLY would like to create my own signs. But it says when trying to save signs "Error when saving changes and Error when saving template." I really hope it gets fixed by summer 2019. best wishes!1!!

I hope that they will fix this problem too. They've made a ultra-complicated map editor and they don't fix a very important bug... XD

What does the log say? It may try to write into your SCS-packed mod, which is locked and read-only when the game is running. This may be the root cause of your problem. Unpack the mod into a directory, and avoid this "locking".

I've made a very quick video showing the issues I think everyone is having with the sign editor at the moment. I hope this video is clear enough, and please let me know if I’m doing something wrong.

• 0:16: The top one is the usual dump location, second one is a folder in the mod folder
• 1:00 Saving the board in the usual dump location and getting an error "Error when saving sign template sign_templ.simsam_45"
• 1:16 Due to the "error" the board isn't linked to the template.
• Log file for that session:
• Generated template:
• 1:29 Fade indicates exiting the game, and packing the signs into the folder in the mod folder
• 1:38 Same error obviously
• 1:48 Note how template wants me to create a board
• 1:55 Fade indicates exiting the game and manually editing the template to link the board (Also have to edit project file to add the template because that doesn't happen automatically)
• Modified template:
• 2:00 After all that the board is successfully linked to the template and it works. But now I want to modify the board...
• 2:18 Press Save
• 2:25 Fade indicates exiting the game, and packing the signs into the folder in the mod folder
• 2:26 Changes didn't survive
