Well, I might as well point out what should be obvious; "they" didn't know "how to map edit" either until they started doing it...

It's not as though SCS has ever bothered to author a "Map Edit Manual" or even just a list of hints. Good grief, there are a few 'buttons' on the Editor's menu that aren't even used any longer. It's even possible they never were used for all we know... :?

I can imagine that SCS isn't bothered in learning people how to mod.

There are some good basic tutorials on the internet but for map modding you really need a pair of good working brains in order to understand all the errors you will get in the process of making the map ;)

Nico, the only tutorials I've found are for the old ETS1 map editor. I've found a few written tutorials that aren't bad, but are also for the old map editor.

But, my main point was that everyone has to pretty much learn by trial and error, with a very major emphasis on the "error" part...

Yeah the ETS map editor tuturoial from Crocket on scribd is the one I used to learn it. Almost everything is the same (except for the def part ofcourse) but it misses the new ETS2 features.

I have also created a 35 min vid where I explain the whole map editor in STDS wich is again the same story as for crockett his tut. And then there is the trial and error part ;)

luckely the game provides a "detailed" log when something goes wrong. So it tells what is causing the crash and if you don't get it or it's a Prism3D 0w6t7thas;lug03u5oj crash than there is always google wich can help you out since you wouldn't be the first one encoutering the error.
