Today I have a great trip for you, but it's very, very long. So, this is part one. It's getting late

We're starting in Groningen (my hometown!), we're using the metallic red Ohaha Daf, and we're transporting 20 tonnes of Olive Oil. I only knew Groningen exported a lot of mustard. Hmm.

Afsluitdijk! Which is great fun!
At the end (and a bit further) of the Afsluitdijk we find the first ferry connection, we're going to Newcastle. That's a spoiler alert I guess!

We're in the tiny village of Thurso, in which the ferry departs.
Standard procedure: honk at this Land Rover if you see it (SC59 AVP). He's been following me from around about Inverness.
Night has fallen when we arrived in Tórshavn. We're not seeing much of the Faroer Islands though.

Third and final ferry connection...
Yes, folkes, we've arrived in the beautiful country of Iceland! Never made a trip to it, only from it. We're going to Reykjavík!
Iceland doesn't have that many residents, still it was very busy in Seðisfjörður...
One of many reasons to love Iceland is the beautiful scenery. A very snowy but sunny afternoon.

Speaking about beautiful: the sun started to set, on this beautiful coast line road. That left me with amazing pictures.
I guess that's the sun entirely set... Let's find an overnight halt.
After the hairpin and snowy bits, this smooth piece of straight tarmac was very much welcome. Not bothering driving in Iceland overnight.
A beautiful sunny morning in the small village of Höfn.
Höfn is still a far, far end away from Reykjavík. 8 hours and 550 km to be exact.
A look at the map didn't strongen my feelings... We're having a long drive in front of us! Luckily we can drive 90 km/h, which is nice.
