Re: PM YT video tutes: "down1" terrain profile?

Thanks! I have just DL'd the prefab pack as it so happens, and will be checking it out this evening. Getting past the point of hair tearing and more into "exciting" as I learn the map editor. Though I am sure there is more hair tearing to come :-)

PM YT video tutes: "down1" terrain profile?

first: thanks so very much for these tutes which are imho the best out there. second: I notice in the tutorial on basic overpass, filling in scenery gaps with terrains etc, that the terrain profile for the road segment is called "down1". I did not find a terrain profile of this name when t...

WIP: yet another Beginner's Guide

https://github.com/RootlessAgrarian/mappingguide This project will look familiar -- it was started and announced last year by Jack Kelly, who did a really nice job. Per recent correspondence he's no longer interested in maintaining it, so with his permission I forked the repo and started editing :-)...

Dunno where else to ask this, sorry... about the forum UI

I have been looking around and have not yet found any way to change the number of posts displayed per page. I am trying to trawl through a very long old thread and getting frustrated having to load a new page, load a new page, etc. Is there somewhere I can set "number of posts displayed per pag...

Re: I'm having trouble getting into the vanilla map in the Map Editor for ATS

I'm having similar error on my first attempt to invoke the map editor. removed all mods, but I am using an existing profile. Game will start OK but when I try to "edit europe" I see the editor screen for a very short time and then the game hangs, last thing in log file is 00:01:35.381 : [g...

Re: RusMap v1.7.5 (1.30.x)

Another thing about the Russia Maps is that they have some very good water textures. The only thing I don't like -- apart from the occasional map errors which I'm sure will get ironed out -- is that they've gone a bit overboard with the "rough road" theme. There are some roads which are ac...

good news for OSX/Linux modding

In case anyone didn't already know (I am just figuring this stuff out for the first time, myself), it is possible to do ETS2 modding with Linux and OSX. You do need a Windoze emulator (like Wine) for a couple of critical steps, but only for CLI tools. I've posted a bit about this over at SCS Forum, ...
