Development on version 2.x (France edition)
There will be a more important issue: Some vanilla areas (Paris) get a rebuild.

Unfortunately the only way to make a DLC like this compatible is to fully integrate it into our work.Nissantruck wrote:I hope that i dont need to buy that France DLC when it comes in order to keep using the Promods map.Like i had to do when the Scandinavia DLC did come out for people to buy.Because i do like the Promods good work and it would be crazy if the Promods work in France would be a waste of time, because they would need to do it again. So that it would be combatible with the SCS France DLC,in the same way as they had to do with Scandinavia DLC.
DLC's like this can't co-exist with the other connections that we make (such as Spain)
I am Dutch living in New Zealand and I speak EN DE SE FR
And with that it would appear that we'll be dealing with another merge much like the Scandinavia merge

No doubt Kutchek will take advantage of what the DLC gives in terms of new vegetation, models, etc. It can only get better guys. Although I love Kutchek's work, I always thought France needed something extra, and the DLC could provide more possibilities to work with.
I would first wanna see more things from SCS before even considering switching to their DLC.
I m quite sure they wont include typical french signs, models and detailsthat Kutchek did provide ( like zone industrial signs for example).
Thats my biggest complaint of SCS work, they think including 2 or 3 cities in France will make people believe it is France. When in reality half of the cities they make all look similar, the highways, tolls, prefabs, models,.... are all the same, from france till sweden.
Thats something promods does wonderfully so I m not convinced SCS can surpass the level of detail promods is giving us for free.

You are speaking the truth there Lolsmurf! Give that guy a medal!
Not necessarily like Scandinavia Merge. Maybe what will happen is replace the prefabs, roads, landmarks (or "panorama" as they are called in the editor) and vegetation with the ones from DLC, integrate the rebuilt parts in the northeast, and the south coast if it is not in Promods yet at that time.
No one knows what will happen yet
Judging only by the screenshots on SCS blog, its great but not necessarily better than Promods France scenery. But the new road templates and village houses, etc. will be great to see.

I was actually quite impressed by their Scandinavia. Maybe Denmark wasn't that good, but did a incredible job with Sweden and Norway. And when I see the first screenshot of France... I can't say I'm not looking forward to it (especially the new Paris)
