Right-click on base folder, tab "Security", click "Edit", select Users or your user name and in the lower pane select "Full control". That will also enable writing to the directory:) Apply also to sub-folders.

I see that now. Let you know when i have fixed it. This first started when i upgraded to Windows 10.

It is still not working. I have added all users to have full access, and still it shows up the same message. It has also been applied to all sub-folders. Also to "my documents folder". This overwriting fail started in Windows 10. I had Windows 8 before and no problem. The game is running in compatibility mode as administrator to "Windows 8", both the x64 and x86. Maybe i should just go back to Windows 8 instead.

Think i just found out what the problem is. Windows 10 is the problem here. I just reverted back the game to 1.18 because hat was the last time the saving worked fine. Now it does not work anymore. I added the v0.98.6 that is for 1.18 and the message i get is the "Failed to mount the base in read-write mode - the map is not saved". When it worked on 1.18 i had Windows 8.1 and not Windows 10.

Damn you Windows 10!!!

Maybe it's some administration rights setting that wasn't synchronized when updating to Win10. I watched a test on a german YouTube channel which showed that Win10 keeps most major settings, but skips those hidden somewhere in tabs of settings windows.

I am also not so sure where to look in the Windows 10 settings. If it is in the BIOS settings or somewhere on the control panel.

Just check the permission settings again of the program files folder.
Also, I use Windows 10 and I have no problems regarding this issue.

I have uninstalled ETS2 and are gonna install it again.

Nothing much that indicates that the saving failed, but there is something like "failed to generate railing data". What does that mean?

I have fixed it. Found the problem. I uninstalled ETS2 and installed it again. Now it works to save the map
Nothing wrong with Windows 10. Maybe the upgrade to Windows 10 caused some problems for ETS2 or maybe ETS2 1.19 caused problems because it started when the game got upgraded from 1.18 and 1.19
I had first 1.18 on Windows 8.1 and then 1.19 on Windows 10.

No worries now. Now i can finally continue to work on the map, connect the disconnected node in Fauske, fix the bug in Moskenes, fix the weather data and so on.
