We may have a nice map mod now, but there's always room for improvement, tweaking and reconstruction to make the Promods Map even better. Therefore, it's an ongoing effort that we are not only expanding the map, but also maintain and improve what we have.
This thread is dedicated to the map improvements and additions on the current map areas.
What has been done so far:
GENERAL IMPROVEMENTS:
- New streetlight models for the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Sweden:
- New power pylon models:
- Shortened the dividing stripes. 2:1 and 3:1 stripes are much more commonly found in Europe than 1:1 stripes.
- All route signs have their official fonts and route shields:
THE NETHERLANDS
- Rebuild interchanges near Rotterdam:
- Rebuild interchanges in Amsterdam:
- Redesigned signage system:
- Replaced the road textures to represent the new Duurzaam Veilig markings:
SWEDEN
- Redesigned the interchanges near Helsingborg and Jönköping:
- Added scenery on the E6 between Malmö and Helsingborg:
- Added scenery on the rv40 (including Ulricehamn):
- Redesigned signage system:
- Added reflection to the water:
- Added painted road arrows to Swedish roads:
On my short term to-do list:
- Add some more scenery to the E6 between Göteborg and Helsingborg
- Add scenery only exits (AKA, unaccesable) and city development near Ljungby and Halmstad.
For long term plans, I have these points:
- Create a new road, the E22 from Malmö to Kalmar to Norrköping. Create Linköping as well as a twin city with Norrköping
- Create rv13 to Ystad for a ferry to Poland.
- Add Örebo to the map.
- Turn the rv75 (Sodralanken) into a tunnel, and redesign the scenery in Stockholm overall (needs a lot more water and bridges).
- Add Utrecht to the Netherlands
- Add the A2, A12 and A28 to the Netherlands, remove the A50 due to redundanct functionality.
- Add Antwerpen to Belgium.
- Review other Scandinavian cities to look where these can be improved.

Looking great, keep up the good work
I'll guess that after these updates are released I can ditch your "MinorModPack"?

May I ask what the "MinorModPack" is and what does it change and where can it be downloaded? I looked in the other forums but could not see it.

Well, you can find it here:
http://promods.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t= ... t=20#p2189
But this will quickly be outdated when the map gets updated
Meanwhile, here's a driving preview of some of the modified map stretches:

Thank you for the link, I like the additions of your minor mod pack it is very nice work. Will you continue to work on this while we wait for the current map to be updated?MandelSoft wrote:Well, you can find it here:

Hi, development team! Just a suggestion concerning the cities in the mod. I think that it would be better if the cities would be done like SCS have done them in vanilla game(especially the DLC). Leave the central parts of the cities in the background or block the roads leading to the center. That's just because the game engine limits the cityscenes greatly and they look kind of lame from the closeup. For example your Oslo is really great but when you get too close for those big buildings(near the harbor for example) it kind of looses the immersion. The DLC pack did great job of making cities immersive even with the engine limitations(see for example Kosice and you see what I mean). Put more static building on the back grounds, it makes the cities look more "lively". Other than that incredible job on the mod! The difference between ProMods and for example TSM is night and day! Keep up the good work!
