ETS 2 doesn't recognise my mod

Hi all,
first post here - so please excuse any obvious newbie-ness....

I created the def file, downloaded the others and popped it all into a mod directory. When I load ETS2, it doesn't recognise them in the edit profile settings page. Can anyone suggest what I might be doing wrong?
I'm using the most up-to-date Steam version, which is 1.12.1s I think.

Maybe it's in the wrong folder. /mod folder needs to be in My Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2

Or elredster forgot to extract the downloaded files.
(extract part 1 with 7-zip, Winrar or equal (ZipGenius is my favorite, and also Free)

Thanks for this Scul - I thought the /mod folder was sub-directory I had to make of where the game actually was.

It's working now and I'm loving it. Well done team :D
