That's the oddest thing I've heard all week. No street view on German Autobahns? In Google Maps or Google Earth?

It's the government who decides, eg FO just have the map and a far off overview, don't want, don't need it they say

It is actually worse: the images were hosted on Majhost. Majhost has been taken down and it is likely I lost all my images from that website (note: this also includes my SimCity 4 and geofiction stuff )

I have quite some of my pics on my hard drive, but I do have to re-upload a lot of them elsewhere...

As for StreetView in Germany: that is a juridically complex matter which I don't want to dive in to

Nope it's actually not allowed to have dashcams in Germany if Im not mistaken...

Privacy rules or something like that.

Some cities are getting streetview but there are still people who dont want it:

Yes indeed:

In Germany, while small cameras for personal use in vehicles are allowed, posting footage from them on social-media sites is considered a violation of privacy and thus forbidden. Dashcam footage is also inadmissible as evidence in a German court.

Yes Dashcams are allowed, but you can´t use your Video at the court.
